The beauty of the meaning of one's life is manifested in love, being a gift for others and for society, even if we feel inadequate, conditioned by our limits, dragged by external circumstances.

But how can we overcome the uncertainties that sometimes seem to dominate us, leading us to close in on ourselves? to retreat into the private sphere? to cultivate their own small personal interests? to neglect the people around us, to remain indifferent to the common good and the vital needs of humanity?

As Chiara Lubich taught us, every man and every woman can make their own contribution in all fields of human activity: in science, in art, in politics, in education, in healthcare, by listening to the voice of their own conscience.

And it will be our conscience itself that will rekindle the flame of love in our hearts and we will have new eyes with which to look around, in the area where we live, in the work environment, among friends, to give something to our neighbour, knowing that the love experienced by individuals has a strong impact on society, brings hope and strengthens social bonds, especially when natural and health disasters cause pain and aggravate poverty, and allows us to find allies with whom to share this love.

It was Jun's experience during the pandemic, when a community in the Philippines was devastated by a fire and many families lost everything: "Even though we are poor, my wife Flor and I had a strong desire to help these families. We shared this situation with the group of motorcyclists I belong to, even though I knew they were suffering like us. This didn't stop my friends from getting to work, collecting cans of sardines, spaghetti, rice and other food, which we brought to the victims of the fires. I won't deny that My wife and I are often discouraged when we think about what the future holds for us. But even if we are not rich, we believe in the power of love and that we always have something to share."

In love for others we draw on that inexhaustible source of energy which is the human heart, which pushes us to give ourselves without hesitation and with enthusiasm, offering our time and often even the small or large resources we have at our disposal.

And we always experience that in giving we also receive a lot from all those with whom we share this wonderful adventure, precious help that always opens us to hope and helps us to be even more generous towards everyone.

Yes. It's true, when we manage to love others in their needs and requirements it's as if we turned on a light in a dark room, a light that illuminates our lives and that of others and warms our existence, creating that current of reciprocity that makes our days more joyful and warmer.

And we will no longer be alone in loving, but with others.
