A round table to sow hope in the year of the Jubilee.

Last May 31, the Center for Dialogue with people of non -religious beliefs of the Focolare Movement organized a round table entitled "Forgiveness and peace: the courage to make difficult choices".

In a world marked by deep wounds, conflicts and divisions, this meeting wanted to offer a space for reflection and hope, in particular in the context of the Jubilee. The round table participated Manolo Toribio, historian, Rodrigo Mardones, expert in political science, and the personal testimony of Cristina Ala. Together they explored the complex relationship between conflict, justice and reconciliation, both in a historical perspective and in the challenges of the present.

With a plural and busy look, a path has been proposed that integrated historical analysis, ethical and institutional bases and personal and collective experience. All this with a common goal: to build bridges and promote a true culture of peace.

One of the main purposes of the meeting was precisely to encourage dialogue between people with different - religious or not convictions - thus strengthening coexistence and mutual understanding. From various countries, and in online connection, numerous people participated. In the city such as Madrid, some groups from various locations have met in presence to follow the round table and share reflections in a lively and enriching dialogue.

It has been underlined that the experience of forgiveness not only free on an individual level, but also has a powerful social and collective dimension: it is a source of peace and walk towards fuller freedom.
