Luciana Scalacci left us on March 18. She had a personal history of political activism and social commitment, which she pursued with rigour throughout her life, together with her husband Nicola. A person without religious references, she found in her deep relationship with the Focolare Movement community and in her personal encounter with Chiara Lubich a complete harmony that characterised her vigorous adherence to the ideal of unity until the end, even during her illness.
Among the many messages that are around the world in these hours, that of a psychologist now no more than 30 years old, who had known her in 2018 in a deep personal dialogue of Luciana with a group of young people. A friendship that had never stopped.
.. from this morning I can't find the words. Only tears and gratitude for meeting her in my life ...
In the last recent phone call at a certain point he said to me: "You know ... this dialogue [between people of different beliefs ed.] It was born not to convert non -believers but because with Chiara we had understood that the united world is done with everyone. That everyone is one. We exclude even one, we are no longer all".
Luciana: from the Latin Lucianus, which means "the bright". Certainly his life will continue to reverberate in that of many and many. Definitely in mine.
