On June 10, 2025, Luan Omari, an Albanian jurist and academic of Tirana, convinced friend and manufacturer of dialogue with people of non -religious beliefs, will turn 100 years old.

Married to Donika, publicist and translator, who directed a publishing house, introducing the Albanians to the works of important Italian writers such as Natalia Ginzburg, Elsa Morante and Umberto Eco.

While coming from different religious family traditions, Luan from a Muslim family and Donika from a Christian Orthodox, both abandoned the religious beliefs during the school period influenced by Marxism. However, after knowing the movement of the Focolari in Albania in 1992, they found a new path in the fraternal dialogue between people of different beliefs, enhancing love for every man as a foundation for a just and peaceful society. As promoters of this dialogue, they participated in numerous conferences in Castelgandolfo, sharing their thoughts and experience.

In one of these conferences, in which he participated together with his wife, he expressed himself in these terms, regarding the experience, promoted by Chiara Lubich, with the political movement for the unit: "As a person who is interested in politics, Chiara's intention to make people's mentality changed me particularly in this field too. It seems truly unrealizable. But participating in the different conferences organized by the Focolare Movement, I met a reality that gives hope. People of the political sphere that have heard in their heart and embraced the idea of Chiara: to love other parties like their own. They are semi that show that everything is possible if there is a good will, the sensitivity is possible. towards others, the feeling of equality and brotherhood. "

As for the person of Chiara, he expressed himself as follows:

"I would also like to add something about Chiara's personal charism. Although it is not a believer, it seems to me right to connect the passages of the Gospels on the role of women who were following Jesus, with the work of Chiara and with his particular charisma. Starting from the example of Chiara, it seems logical and just the decision of the movement of the outbreaks, also approved by the pontiff, who at the head of the movement is always a woman."

We wish Luan Omar to continue promoting this fraternal dialogue, with the precious testimony of his life.
