A woman greets me on the street. Then he approaches and introduces himself. He had heard me speak at a presentation of one of my books at the State Archives in Naples and would have liked to meet me. Very sensitive to environmental problems, she would like help to improve the socio-environmental reality of the island of Procida where she has also lived for a few years.

She is French and lives with her husband between France and Procida (Italy). Both retired and of non-religious beliefs.

You are writing a historical book in Italian and would need a correction. I offer him my availability to review his text. He's happy. He publishes the book and knowing that we are managing the island's municipal library as volunteers of our small cultural association, he offers us his willingness to collaborate.

We meet several times as a family and get to know each other better. We tell them about our experience based on the Christian choice and our dream of a united world and they tell us about their life without religious references, the difficulties they have experienced and their desire for a more just world with respect for fundamental rights.

They appreciate and respect our choices and are therefore happy to continue the relationship with Angela and me.

We talked to him about the blog “In… Cammino” (a space for dialogue on great human values, between believers and people without any reference to a religious faith) and asked him if he could translate some posts into French. She is happy to offer this contribution and has since translated many songs into French.

They are beside us with a special love and support us when they see us tired or tired or in difficulty. Their friendship has become precious and we feel they are a great gift for our lives.

There is now a true reciprocal relationship between us which manifests itself on many occasions, especially when I presented some of my books and when she presented her historical book to the students of the Istituto Superiore di Procida.

They wanted us to get to know Albert Camus, a great writer of non-religious beliefs, whom they love very much and we posted on the blog, to their great joy, many of this writer's thoughts, through which we understood that many men are on the path of dialogue.

Meeting Camus through this couple of friends was a sign of great hope for Angela and me, precisely in the prospect of a united and fraternal world.
