Have we ever witnessed an unusual event that left a mark on us and felt the desire to share it with others? Or, on the contrary, that someone shared with us something that was of vital importance to them?

This month's idea invites us to bear witness and share positive experiences that can transform our lives and our society.

Cezar Kurti, an Albanian writer and translator of non-religious beliefs, always said that the words of the historical Jesus, who he considered one of the greatest martyrs of humanity, had always fascinated him. And throughout his life, with love and humility, he wanted to testify to the value of unity and brotherhood among all men, translating the divine Comedy of Dante and the book Meditations by Chiara Lubich for her people.

The history of many communities that over the centuries have shared the life proposal that Jesus made to the men of his time, invites us to explore the intrinsic strength of his words which, even today, resonate strongly in us, inviting us to fraternal communion and the construction of more supportive societies, communities founded on intimate and profound communion of life, more attentive to the inequalities that surround us, more inclined to actions of peace.

Seeing today the experience of people of different faiths, political options, ethnic groups and cultures who love each other fraternally and try together to improve the life of their environment, is a testimony that makes us see brotherhood on a small or large scale and pushes us to full conviction that universal brotherhood is possible. Their testimony attracts and involves us. Within ourselves and together with others, we will find the strength to bear witness to it with our lives, overcoming fears and fears.

The women and men who followed Jesus were transformed by listening to his messages and, today, we too can testify that the love he offers sets us free, breaks down every barrier and binds us all as true brothers and sisters.

Let us combine our small strengths, our talents, using our creativity and our freedom to set out, with ever greater courage, on this path of brotherhood, knowing that living mutual love is contagious because it responds to a vital need of every person. man.

Our testimony can encourage and push others who, seeing us, will join us to work with loyalty and transparency to build the common good to which we all aspire.
